October 2024

An exciting new programme’s being delivered at Booker Park. Disability cricket, is running in East Wing Hall until Friday 18th October. It’ll be offered to a selection of classes later in the year. Table Cricket is an adapted version of cricket, played on table tennis tables with teams of six taking turns to bowl and bat. The sessions are to provide children with special needs or disability the chance to play regular competitive cricket. There will be inclusive coaching, competing against peers, and enjoying the benefits of playing sport. We are delighted to be involved in a scheme being offered by Bucks Cricket in association with Lord’s Taverners cricket charity. Currently, children from Wren, Penguin and Raven classes have enjoyed this exciting version of cricket. Booker Park have been invited to take park in the County Competition held just before the Christmas Holidays. Champions progress to Lord’s Taverners Regional Competition, held at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium around April. The winners of the Regional Competition are invited to Lord’s Cricket Ground for the National Grand Final.
