🌟 🌟Celebrating a Double Modeshift STARS Success!🌟

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Booker Park School has been recognised as Modeshift STARS Local Authority School of the Year 2026/27. We have also gone on to win Modeshift STARS Regional School of the Year 2026/27 at the recent awards. This outstanding achievement reflects the dedication and enthusiasm of our pupils, families, class staff and wider school team.

While many people associate Modeshift STARS with journeys to and from school, the programme is much broader than that. It encourages schools to develop pupils’ understanding of road safety, personal safety, health, wellbeing, sustainability, environmental responsibility and active lifestyles through a wide range of educational activities and initiatives.

Throughout the year, our pupils and staff have taken part in a variety of activities that promote safe and sustainable travel, including road safety learning, curriculum-based activities, educational walks, and initiatives designed to encourage healthy, environmentally friendly travel choices. These activities help our pupils develop important life skills while supporting our commitment to sustainability and community engagement.

Representatives from our school recently attended the Modeshift STARS Regional School Travel Awards Celebration, where schools from across the region came together to celebrate their achievements. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the fantastic work taking place across our school and to celebrate the efforts of everyone involved.

This award recognises far more than travel habits. It celebrates the way our pupils, families and staff work together to improve road safety awareness, reduce environmental impact, encourage active lifestyles, support community partnerships and embed sustainability throughout school life.

We are now incredibly proud to have been shortlisted for national recognition and are looking forward to the National STARS School Travel Awards Celebration which will be held in London on 17th March 2027, where national winners will be announced.

A huge thank you to our pupils, parents, carers, class staff, support staff and wider school community for helping make this achievement possible. Your continued support, enthusiasm and commitment have enabled us to create meaningful opportunities for our pupils while making a positive difference to our environment and local community.
